Douanes des etats-unis Lance un Nouveau Système: les Conséquences pour la Ré - exporté des Marchandises

The US Customs and Border Protection has introduced a new system starting from April 15th that could significantly impact international shipping, especially for goods re – exported to the US via third countries. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has recommended that companies exercise caution when considering this shipping route.
The new system focuses on verifying the origin of goods. If a company ships Chinese goods to a third country and then on to the US, the US Customs will closely monitor these shipments. Once inspected, products and their parts will be traced.
To ensure compliance, US Customs is now asking companies to provide three key pieces of documentation:
  1. A detailed flowchart of the production process. This will help the customs understand how the product was made and where each step took place.
  1. Invoices for major raw material supplies. These invoices are crucial for verifying the origin of the materials used in production.
  1. Specific documents showing the factory’s energy consumption. This information can be used to cross – check the production scale and authenticity.
Failure to provide these documents upon inspection could lead to severe consequences for importers. They may be subject to triple the normal tariffs and even face criminal charges. This new policy aims to combat the mislabeling of goods’ origin, which has been a growing concern for US Customs.
Companies involved in the export and re – export of goods to the US need to review their shipping strategies and documentation procedures immediately. With this new system in place, it is essential to be well – prepared to avoid costly penalties and potential legal issues. Stay tuned for further updates on how this new US Customs initiative unfolds in the coming months.
